Gravity
As wastewater enters the septic tank in a gravity septic system, it pushes wastewater out the other end to the drain field through a network of pipes. This is called “gravity flow” to the drain field, and these systems don’t need a pump. The most important part of a gravity septic system is the septic tank because a good-quality tank can remove two-thirds or more of wastewater contaminants.
SAND MOUND
Sand mound systems are an option in areas of shallow soil depth, high groundwater, or shallow bedrock. The constructed sand mound contains a drain field trench. Effluent (wastewater) from the septic tank flows to a pump chamber where it is pumped to the mound in set doses.

FAQs
Excavation is the process of moving earth, rock, or other materials with tools, equipment, or explosives to make space for construction or exploration.
An excavator is a heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom, dipper, bucket, and cab on a rotating platform known as the “house,” used for digging and moving large objects
Permits may vary depending on location and project scope but typically include excavation permits, environmental permits, and permits for any utility connections.
After septic excavation is completed, the septic tank and drainage field are installed according to the system design and local regulations. The excavated area is then backfilled and graded to ensure proper drainage and prevent settling. Final inspections may be required to verify that the system meets all standards and is ready for use.
The cost of septic excavation can be influenced by several factors, including the size of the septic system, soil type, depth of excavation, accessibility of the site, and any additional work required, such as removing rocks or tree roots. Obtaining multiple quotes from contractors can help ensure a fair price.
James Ray was professional and very knowledgeable about the septic system service he completed on my septic tank. I would recommend him for any septic issues.
